You cannot change an existing meeting’s ID. When creating meeting passcodes, keep in mind that some videoconferencing equipment can only enter numbers. If some participants might connect from videoconferencing hardware instead of a computer or mobile device, set a numerical passcode to ensure that they can connect without issue.

Require participants to be logged into a Zoom account You can require all participants to be logged into their Zoom accounts before accessing your Zoom meeting room.

To enable this setting: Log into Zoom. Click Meetings. If you clicked Upcoming Meetings , select the desired meeting. Click Edit this Meeting. Check the box to the left of Only authenticated users can join. Click the drop-down and select Any authenticated Zoom user can join.

Click Save. Click the drop-down and select Only authenticated IU Zoom users can join. Turn off participant video upon entry You can configure your meeting room so that every participant’s video feed is disabled when first joining. To do this: Log into Zoom. Could this be an incompatibility issue with the browser they’re using or do they need to clear their cache? I’m having the same issue, but seems to only be happening when linked from an e-newsletter sent via one of the email marketing programs. Anyone else having that issue? Any solution yet? The issue that we see is that when users register from their mobile device for a Zoom Meeting with the Zoom app installed, they can register and then it takes them directly into Zoom meeting even though the meeting is scheduled for a future data.

The confirmation email is not sent by Zoom. I had to go into the Zoom meeting, select the registrations, and resend the confirmation email to ensure they receive a Zoom meeting email. Having the same problem. Link was copied and emailed out the group. None could get the registration button to work. Check for whitespace in the link. I had the same issue when I sent out a mailer and added whitespace by accident.

The link seems normal but the registration didn’t work and as soon as I removed the whitespace and sent out the mailer again it worked one hundred percent with no issues. You can require registration in both meetings and webinar. There are two approval methods automatically and manually. You can also select the information you would like to gather from registrants such as first name, last name, email, along with other details like address, organization, etc. There is also a text field for questions and comments. You can also create custom questions for registrants to answer during registration. You can make any of the field required or optional except for First name and Email Address, they are always required.

You can always decide to record your meeting. Recording to the cloud is the preferred method because it takes the processing load off your computer and is the only way to record on devices. Cloud recording can also save the chat and will be displayed in the playback link along with transcripts.

The host can edit the transcripts and chat before sharing the playback link. Local recording records to the hosts computer and processes the file that does not have the chat or transcript options. Security is very important, but some settings can limit what you can and cannot do in a meeting. Decide how you will be sharing your link. Is it a private event or public event? Will you need a webinar or meeting? For a more secure registration, use the manually approve option.

While more time consuming, can avoid potential disruptors by not giving them the information automatically. This will prevent all participants from sharing their screens. This can be done using the security button. The host can also set this in the share screen advanced button in the meeting.

In a meeting you can turn off annotations only after the sharing has started, this can expose the meeting to potential disruptions. You can turn off annotations by going to the Zoom controls in at the top of the screen and select more. Once you’ve completed that task, it’s time to begin! Nothing will cause attendees to tune out more quickly than a rambling, uninspired introduction.

Ask attendees to chat in and comment where they’re tuning in from. Rather than listening to one voice for the full duration of the webinar, attendees are likely to remain more engaged if they are listening to a discussion between two or more panelists. Likewise, using clear, concise and visually pleasing slides will be much more effective in conveying your point and holding the attendees’ attention.

Remain engaged throughout your time together by keeping good eye contact. Utilizing Zoom’s awesome annotation tools and keeping your content visually and audibly compelling will ensure that your attendees will hang on until the end of your presentation.

Log into the Zoom web portal by going to and choosing Sign in with SSO. Click Meetings, hover over the meeting. On the meeting set up screen, scroll down and you’ll find ‘Registration required’ with a checkbox. Zoom require registration on Zoom’s website.
